It’s no secret that D.C. is home to hundreds of creatives who design, craft, roast, stitch, bake, weld, brew and build amazing products – and now there is a retail initiative dedicated to helping them grow.

As the first store dedicated to only made in D.C. products, their four locations are home to over 200 makers and nearly 5,000 made in D.C. products including apothecary, apparel, art, furniture, jewelry, home decor and stationery.

Urban Dwell, located at 1837 Columbia Rd NW, Washington, D.C. which is 13 minutes from your 1331 Maryland apartment, is an independent, veteran-owned, boutique gift shop featuring carefully curated merchandise following the latest trends in home decor, women’s and men’s accessories, books and stationery, kitchen items, baby gifts and more.

Merchandise spans the spectrum in variety and price range, offering unique, hard-to-find and interesting gifts designed by both local and worldwide artists and designers. Urban Dwell is owned by Tom McMahon and opened its doors in 2015. After 22 years of active-duty service, Tom retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2014 as an intelligence officer in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
