Have an Authentic Irish Evening at this Washington D.C. Pub this Saint Paddy's Day

More Americans have Irish ancestry than any other European country – so you can bet our nation’s capitol parties pretty hard for Saint Patrick’s Day! There are parades and packed pubs all over Washington D.C. this time of year.

However, if you are looking for a little Saint Paddy’s Day craic (Irish word for fun) that’s a bit more low-key, then step dance on down to this local pub not too far from your 1331 Maryland apartment. It has a warm atmosphere certain to remind you of the Emerald Isle.

Kirwan’s on the Wharf – The first restaurant to open on the newly deisnged wharf back in 2017, Kirwan’s is an authentic Irish pub less than ten minutes from your 1331 Maryland apartment. Once you walk through the door, you’ll be greeted at their main bar where a sweeping view of the Washington Channel adds to the sociable and vibrant atmosphere in this Washington D.C. Irish pub.

With old world charms, tin ceilings, plush seating and a full Irish food menu Kirwan’s is about as authentic as it gets this side of the pond. The owner’s intention in opening Kirwan’s was to celebrate their homeland by making your experience as authentically Irish as possible. To do this, they contracted eight carpenters from Ireland who flew over with huge containers bearing all of the restaurant’s interior furnishings and materials. Every bar, tile, table, chair, panel and photograph you see is from Ireland. Even the photographs on the walls are from Ireland!
